Access to quality mental health care is crucial for the well-being of the LGBTQ+ community, and the Stonewall Foundation of Greater Sacramento is proud to support organizations like Sunburst Projects that are making a real difference. Today, we celebrate their exciting news: thanks to a Stonewall Foundation grant, Sunburst Projects has hired four new interns to bolster their vital mental health department!
These talented individuals – two Associates of Social Work (ASWs) and two Associate Marriage and Family Therapists (AMFTs) – all hold Master's degrees. They are registered with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences. Their expertise, through both their credentials and from being LGBTQ+ themselves, will significantly enhance Sunburst Projects' capacity to provide culturally competent mental health services to the LGBTQ+ community.
